Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Location data: The Vendin mobile app accesses your device location only when you give permission, and only to show nearby machines and calculate distances. The Vendin website does not collect location data. Location data is not stored permanently or used for advertising.
• Account information: If you create an account, we store your email address, name, and optional profile image to enable features like favorites, contributions, and syncing across devices.
• Contributions and user content: When you add or update a machine, write a review, or submit a report, we store the information you submit, including photos, machine names, descriptions, and comments. Contributions are associated with your account and may be displayed to other users. Do not submit content you do not have permission to share. Photos you upload may retain embedded metadata (such as EXIF location data) from your device or camera.
• Device and diagnostic data: We collect device information and diagnostic data (such as crash logs, performance data, and app usage patterns) to help us detect and fix issues. This is handled by Sentry. On the mobile app, Sentry may also collect session replay data to understand errors. We do not use this data to identify you personally outside of error contexts.
• Log and session data: When you use our servers or sign in, we automatically receive technical data such as your IP address, user agent, request timestamps, and session identifiers. This data is used for security, authentication, and service operation.
• Communications: If you contact us for support, we store your email address and the contents of your message to respond to you.

How we use information

• To provide and maintain the Service, including showing nearby machines and directions.
• To authenticate you and enable account-based features like favorites and contributions.
• To display user-generated content such as machine listings, photos, and reviews.
• To detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
• To diagnose and fix crashes, performance issues, and errors.
• To respond to support requests and communicate with you.

Sharing and third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate the Service, such as:

• Cloudflare for hosting, infrastructure, and image storage (R2).
• Sentry for crash reporting, performance monitoring, and error diagnostics.

Your choices

• You can disable location access at any time through your device settings. The mobile app will still work for browsing, but distance-based features will be limited.
• You can decline or revoke camera and photo library access in your device settings. Doing so will prevent you from uploading photos.
• You can delete your account and associated data by contacting us at support@vendin.app.

Data retention and security

We keep your information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children's privacy

Vendin is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us.
